Our Story

We met on a rainy Tuesday in line for coffee neither of us actually wanted — Julian was reading a book upside down to seem interesting, and Maya called it out immediately. Six years, two apartments, and one extremely opinionated cat later, here we are.

What started as an argument about the correct way to load a dishwasher turned into a partnership built on bad puns, long walks with no destination, and a shared belief that the best plans are the loosely held ones.

Julian proposed on a Sunday in early spring, on the same street corner where they'd had their first real fight — mostly, he says, so the story would have better structure.

FAQs

Are children welcome?

We love your kids, but we've decided to keep our celebration adults-only, with the exception of immediate family. We hope this gives everyone a night off to enjoy the evening.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony begins promptly at 4:30 PM. We recommend arriving by 4:00 PM to find parking or rideshare drop-off, and to be seated before doors close.

Is the venue indoors or outdoors?

Both. The ceremony is held in an open-air gallery courtyard, weather permitting, with an indoor contingency space. The reception is fully indoors in Loft Two.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Your invitation and RSVP form will indicate how many seats have been reserved in your name. If you have questions about your allotment, please reach out to us directly.

What's the best way to get to the hotel and venue?

We recommend flying into LAX. Rideshare is the easiest way to get around for the weekend, and we'll be running a shuttle between The Merrow Hotel and The Halden on the night of the wedding.

Do you have a gift registry?

Your presence is truly the gift. For those who've asked, a small registry will be shared on our invitation insert closer to the date.
