Our Story

From a chili cook-off to forever

Photo of Wren and Sawyer

Wren and Sawyer met at a county chili cook-off in 2022, arguing over whose grandmother's recipe was truly the best (Sawyer's, obviously — Wren will admit this only in writing). Three years, two rescue dogs, and one very muddy camping trip later, Sawyer got down on one knee at sunset by the creek behind Amber Hollow Farm — the same barn where we're throwing this whole shindig.

We wanted a wedding that felt like our favorite Sunday: golden light, good food, bare feet in the grass, and everyone we love in one room (well, one field). So pull on your boots, grab a lemonade, and let's celebrate together.

Travel & Accommodations

Getting there & staying over

Getting There

Amber Hollow Farm sits about 25 minutes southwest of downtown Austin. The nearest airport is Austin–Bergstrom International (AUS), roughly 45 minutes away by car.

We recommend renting a car or arranging a rideshare, as the farm is tucked down a gravel road with limited parking — carpooling with fellow guests is appreciated!

Where to Stay

We've held a block of rooms at the Driftwood Lodge & Cabins, about 10 minutes from the farm. Mention "Wren & Sawyer's Wedding" when booking for our discounted rate.

A limited number of rustic on-site cabins are also available at Amber Hollow Farm itself for guests who want to fall asleep counting stars — ask us for details.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Both! The ceremony takes place outdoors in the Wildflower Meadow, and the reception moves into the Big Red Barn, which is covered but open-air on the sides. We'll have fans for warm evenings and blankets on hand if it cools down.

Can I bring a plus-one or my kids?

We're so excited to celebrate with you! Please check your invitation for exactly who's included — if it names your plus-one or children by name, they're warmly welcome. Our farm venue does have limited capacity, so we appreciate you sticking to the guest list on your invite.

What should I wear?

Our dress code is "rustic chic" — think garden party meets barn dance. Sundresses, linen button-downs, and dressy boots are all perfect. The ceremony lawn is grass, so skip the stiletto heels.

Will the venue be wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Amber Hollow Farm has graded gravel paths and a ramp into the barn. Please let us know in the RSVP message field if you need any specific accommodations and we'll make sure you're set.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there is a grass parking field with attendants directing traffic. Because the road in is narrow gravel, we kindly ask guests to carpool where possible.

Are you registered anywhere?

Your presence is truly the present. If you'd like to contribute anyway, details will be shared on our registry card included with your invitation.
